Continuity error -- which episode?

In episode BABF10, "Alone Again, Natura-diddly," Maude Flanders dies. But in episode 2F15, "Lisa's Wedding," she's shown in the audience at the wedding. So is that a continuity error in BABF10 (which aired in a later season) or in 2F15 (which shows events that will take place in 2010)?

I don't think it is a continuity error in either. The fortune teller didn't specifically mention to Lisa that Maude Flanders would be at the wedding; Lisa just imagined she would naturally attend, as she was unaware of Maude's fated death.

In another suitably whacky installment of a yet to be announced episode, Ned will recant his Christianity and clone Maude. Homer will be involved somehow, and it'll be a The 6th Day sendup.

It will suck.

I think it is because by that time, they cured what caused Maude's death, which was a barrage of t-shirts and hitting the pavement. Much like the were working on the cure for Mr. Burns' 17 stab wounds in the back.

Are you saying Maude was frozen, pending the time in the future when the damage from the tshirts etc could be repaired?

The episode with Lisa's future wedding aired before the episode with Maude Flanders' death. They did not know that they would kill her later. The way I look at it; Lisa's wedding was in a potential future that is now impossible (that is how they handle time travel in comic books). Also; the Simpsons tv show is very loose with continuity. There are episodes where they have summer vacations; but Bart and Lisa are still in the 4th and 2nd grade at school. If they were serious with continuity the children would have advanced in school (or at least Lisa would :)). In earlier seasons; Homer and Marge met in the late 70's but they have changed that so they meet later. The fact that they are fictional cartoon characters makes it hard for the to grow and change with time.
