(spoiler space for minor spoilers)
Did anyone notice that 3 old jokes atleast returned in the "Jaw wired shut" episode? One of the jokes was actually the "boyhood dream" joke. The "Local man ruins everything" paper was essentially a boyhood dream joke just without the mention of it being a boyhood dream. Then of course, we have the return of Itchy and Scratchy (something I have sorely missed). After that, we have Dr. Hibbert's morbid pamphlets returning. This one with the same "So you've ruined your life" name as the one given to Marge when she was first pregnant but having to do with Homer's jaw. The reuse of the exact same wording made it so funny and especially when you think about the fact that Homer's jaw was wired for only a short time and the pamphlet was completely inaccurate on that point. That just made the joke all the sweeter.
I think this is great. We now need Bart to phone Moe's bar again. We had Hans Moleman in a bad situation last episode so there isn't too much to bring back in the way of old jokes. Can anyone else think of a good repeating joke that you would like to see come back?
