French fighters in the 100 years war were not the ones who wore suits of armor. It was the noble English knights who did that. I would have also really appreciated a longbow reference, but that is ok.

Grade: It was an entertaining episode though not a great one. I guess when placed up against the top entertainment only episode of the simpsons (Sunday, Cruddy Sunday), it really does not hold up. When placed against Simpsons Tall Tales or Simpsons Bible Stories it holds up quite nicely. So, I guess for a later episode it held up well. It is just that when the show has to delve into the Trojan War and Shakespeare, then I suppose that I maybe expect more from the show. Still, I guess there is something to be said that it did make me laugh more than some of the other episodes.

GRADE: B+

They kind of did have one. Right at the beginning, they were exchanging long bow shots between camps while the narrator (I think Homer) was setting up the scene. It was a quick reference, but it was definitely there.

There was also a scene where the French were attacking the Brits who were all sitting around on tree stumps drinking tea. The story didn't draw attention to it, so it may have gone unnoticed, but there were references.

YEA AND THE VIKINGS WERE HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE ALL OF THAT, HOW INSENSITIVE OF THEM TO EVEN THINK OF PUTTING THEM IN THE TIME OF SHAKESPEARE AND THE ELIZABETHAN ERA.
