Grampa's Problem With Missouri?

In the episdoe when Homer gets accused of sexual harrassement, just given in NYC for the first time in what seems like years, Grampa refused to aknowledge Missouri. Does he have some sort of long-standing problem with the state? Nothing comes to my mind.

I think it might have something to do with the Missouri compromise..Missouri wanted to come into the union as a slave state, and ..something something something..everybody hates Missouri.

Not to mention the identity crisis Missouri has due to it's location. Is it in the South? The Midwest? The Central region? All of the above?
