Does anyone think or know if they will ever show the episode 'The City of New York Vs Homer Simpson' considering how badly they edited down the Mr X episode because it is one of the best episides

Well if they edit it down, it will be "your car is pack between nowhere" and he pees in a glowing light beam, I can't see the point of editing it, nothing offensive was in it, they still show Men In Black, that has a twin towers scene in it, why not cancel that? Excatly it shouldn't be edited down in any way.

I'm not aware that they were other scenes in it, one thing that does annoy me is Prof. Frink's frist appearance is not shown anymore here.

Well, they just showed it here on the local Fox affiliate. I was even able to point out the '$9 II' reference on the magazine to my wife. (Where II is a pic of the towers.)

On March 17, 2002, The Comedy Network (Canada) showed the complete episode, uncut unedited.

What happened to the Mr. X episode? I haven't heard anything about that.

im in the UK and one sky1 they editied down the skene where Homers in the vent listenning to Mr Burns selling Uranium to some 'terrorists' it made no sense and screwed up that scene

As far as editing goes... When they edit an episode for syndication, that's it. Finito. I don't believe that version ever changes (unlike Seinfeld, which I think was re-edited and re-compressed recently). So when your local station shows 4F22 again - and that choice is up to them, since there's no longer a national schedule - it should be exactly the same as it would have been before. (See www.snpp.com/episodes/scg-9.txt for the list of what was cut from the original airing.) I don't know if individual stations are allowed to edit their tapes to make their own cuts, but it seems like a lot of trouble since they mainly seem concerned with the length. Internationally it's a completely different story: the entire episode is sent out unedited, and it's up to the other countries to decide what parts get the snip. (The Comedy Network in Canada seems to air them with minimal cuts.) I believe those cuts are mainly content-related, though, rather than trying to trim the whole running time. Anyway, what they did to The Computer Wore Menace Shoes is independent of that; I've only seen one season 12 episode in syndication so far (The Great Money Caper - they cut out both chloroform bits!), but I have heard they butchered them.

So to answer your question...(I have no idea.) Clearly they have shown it before, but your station might not want to yet. And it shouldn't have anything to do with how they edited a season 12 episode.

They say that they always look to have the complete episodes of their shows. So that would mean that they have asked Fox for the full length episodes and Fox decided to send them the cut time-compressed versions for some episodes (season 2 mostly, but some from season 1, 3 and 4 and everything that we have seen from season 10 and 11 so far).

The Comedy Network claims that there is nothing they can do about that now.

that was in the original broadcast of the episode here in the US, but may have been cut in syndication - i don't know as i've never seen it in syndication (which doesn't mean it hasn't been played, only that i haven't seen it).

The mian reason I think for the moment they woun't show it is because it has the twin towers in it and is anti-NYC
