I don't think I ever heard 'The Smurf Song' but it was around that time (I think in the 80s actually) that National Lampoon did a "Smurfs" parody that included this little poem:

I must admit that this had the effect of predjudicing me against Smurfs for a long time until I finally saw the Hanna-Barbera cartoons.
