Nick Bakay Nick Bakay reprised his role as "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" sidekick Salem Saberhagen in tonight's episode. Salem, from the Archie Comics series STTW, was a talking black cat, formerly a warlock bent on world domination, but given into the custody of the Spellman family. Bakay voiced the character on the live action series (1996-2003), as well as "Sabrina the Animated Series" (1999). Bakay was a writer for STTW, and is also a producer on "The King of Queens." His split-second appearance on tonight's episode was perhaps the most obscure voice appearance on the show yet, but TV fanatics will appreciate it... I know I did.

That's some link! A closer link would be that STTW takes place in Salem, Massachusetts, I assume, and Riverdale, the fictitious town in the Archie Comics is based on Haverhill, Massachusetts, which is about 20 miles away.

BTW, Springfield is NOT in Massachusetts. Chevron gasoline is not sold in Massachusetts.

Space Mvsevm

Boston, actually; the aunts live in the suburbs, and Sabrina eventually goes to college in the city (going by the show here, not the original comic book). The high school once went on a field trip to Salem though, and hilarity ensued. (Given the actual town's bad name, I'm guessing if it still exists, it's only as a landmark or something. Or perhaps its name has been changed.)
