Bart-Mangled Banner

I just saw Bart-Mangled Banner in syndication, and you know the scene where OFF is escaping from Alcatraz and Homer says, "I'm not made of money! We'll swim to Oakland."? Anyway, I recall them showing Oakland on fire and stuff, but when I just saw it, it only looked really run-down. Did they edit the animation? Anyone else recall anything similar?

Syndicated shows are cut for content to allow for more ads, so that may have been one of the things chopped.

I can attest that that part is not cut time-wise (scg-15 should be coming within a week, by the way!); I'll check the syndicated version against the first two Fox runs again, but it didn't seem any different to me.

Could be your memory - or possibly an ad? (Sometimes things will change a little between the copy Fox uses for ads and the aired version; I think even GABF12 last week had a tweaking in the "quantum tunnel" scene.)
