Things I didn't like about EABF12

1. The conflict between Marge and Homer in this episode didn't have any gravity to it, which made it hard for me to swallow that either of them would have let it go on for as long as it did. Felt like they were trying to emulate older episodes where the parents had a fight, but this time I just don't think it was believable.

2. At several points in the episode, it was suggested that Homer suffers from alcoholism. Alcoholism is not funny. It is a serious disease that hurts many people. I would have hoped the writers and producers would have had more sensitivity than that -- why not joke about Homer's new roommates in this episode having AIDS? The spirit is the same.

I think alcaholism is an easier disease to make fun of. Alcaholism is clearly caused by a major vice, choosing to drink. It can also be successfully treated, although never cured. AIDS on the other hand can happen due to many things and is terminal. Laughing at AIDS is like laughing at cancer. Also alcaholism has been in our culture for a much longer time then AIDS.
