Now I am not 100% sure but i think the comic book guy character was inspired by a book calleed A Confedeacy of Dunces. The main character in the book is called Ignatius and is a carbon copy of comic book guy...any thoughts ?

my favorite book. while i see where your heading, the simpsons are usaully really good when they typecast, i just don't see the similarities. but when homer got fat to work at home, that WAS a reference. the hat and going to movies all the time, and the muumuu ( sp ). if you like the simpsons this much, read the book. you'll love it.
