Is it Catholic? They've got those stained-glass windows with the saints on them. But Reverend Lovejoy is married and Catholic clergy are forbidden from marriage.
Baptist? Ned Flanders goes there. He is portrayed as a Fundamentalist Evangelical, possibly Baptist, but in "Home Sweet Home-Didilly-Dum-Doodily", he seems to endorse infant baptism. Baptists usually oppose infant baptism.
So I guess it's one of those inter-denominational churches.

no but moe did, although ive also seen Moe at the simpsons church, and in the rock camp one he mentioned he hadnt had seats this good since his moonie (60's cult) wedding. So thats three religions for moe unless im missing any?
Springfield seems to be located in a land-locked state, but has an old sea captain selling anchors from a shop in town. It's urban, but a short drive to Southern accented rural areas. It has snow capped mountains on the edge of town. It has a nuclear power plant. It often attracts the attention of the world-wide press.
It sounds like a typical American town, with a typical church which tries to attract new congregants. (This pastor isn't cheating on his wife, though. Maybe sometime in the future). Ned Flanders is the only the good Christian in town, and he's an object of derision.
Perfectly normal. Don't take it too seriously.
