BABF20 Done Right!

I just picked up "Simpsons Comics Royale" and I was surprised to see that "A Tale Of Two Springfields" is in there, with completely different set-up and execution, but the same basic episode. Now re-titled "Wall Or Nothing" Springfield is divided by a wall over a water contraversey, the Simpsons in South Springfield, and and the VanHoutens in North Springfield. Rather than a string of jokes about the towns hatred for each other, it plays off of Bart and Milhouse being separated. It's funny, sentimental, and has a consistent plot, unlike, say BABF20. And one part made me laugh harder than anything in "A Tale Of Two Springfields" did:

Homer: Oh, Bart, it's alright. You know, I know another story about a boy who thought he had lost a friend.... (an hour later) and then he died of massive internal bleeding. Bart: You're not much of a parent, are you? Homer: Eh.

=v= Who wrote that one?

=v= I enjoyed the various _Simpsons_ comics at first, but
I felt that things slacked off when the Vances left.

Well, I don't know about the decline, but I usually enjoy Simpsons comics, and, at times they are a higher quality than the newer episodes, IMO.

Can you subscribe to Simpsons Comics or do you have to go to a comic shop to buy them? I don't think I want to admit that much of an obsession. Sincerely, Little Girl

I subscribed to Simpsons Comics when they started. I got only "one" issue.... hmmm... hope they have the bugs worked out of the subscription service.
