I day or so after the Michael Jackson verdict we saw the rerun of the episode where Homer ends up in the nut house with a FAT guy who says he is Michael Jackson.
The "voice" in the credits was something like John Jay Smith.
I "heard" that Jackson really did play himself (at least when the voice "sounded" like the "real" MJ.)
Is that true?
Is there a "source" for this information?

You wouldn't believe the celebrities who did cameos! Dustin Hoffman, Michael Jackson. Of course, they didn't use their real names, but you could tell it was them.

It's long since been confirmed. "Planet Simpson" being the most recent published source. This book also details that the voice work was MJ, but the song, "Happy Birthday Lisa," for some odd trademark/royalties reason, was done by an impersonator. John Smith was the obviously pseudo name.
