I went on the ride at Disneyland. It was a part on Journey into the Inner Universe. It was in the 70s, I wore bell-bottoms, and wish not to say more.

Is this some joke I'm missing? Because this same question came up in April, and last October, and who knows when else. I do realize there's an episode of The Simpsons that references Tron, but is there any reason for people to repeatedly ask the question, especially without really saying anything in the post?

Like I said in April, I thought maybe people were asking because Tron is twenty years old this year. I just found what I hadn't found before, a release date for the film. It came out July 9, 1982, which was a Friday. I recall friends anticipating the release, when I was in New York City from June 7th to about the 15th or so that year.

The page I found with the release date is http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/index1982.html and it is interesting to see what films came out that year (and how many I did see).

ET celebrates it's 20th anniversary June 11th; the rerelease was a few months early for some reason. Blade Runner came out on June 25th. There are actually too many neat films that came out that year to mention.

I don't, however, think I've seen Tron since it first came out. I suspect I didn't see it the first day, but I must have seen it that July.

A more interesting question, though not Simpsons related, is why all those people were walking around in 1982 with what amounted to plastic antennas on their heads. They were everywhere in NYC, people wearing them and people selling them on every corner, but they were also here in Montreal.

I have no problem with people quoting the show in posts with real content, but it just seems silly to post if people have nothing to say.
