With all this talk about the simpsons winding up (which is not true the show has at least 2 more seasons according to Groening. It got me thinking about how they might end the show... what would the final episode be like. Any Idears?

The Simpsons get a call from NBC that they want to show the show again and they go on a trip on the company plane but Homer jumps up and down and causes it to land in Massachusetts. While in town, The whole family gets arrested because they fail to stop and render aid to a fat guy getting robbed. Then they have a trial and the whole town of Springfield comes to testify against the Simpson family. Then they get convicted and have to serve five years in jail. The show ends with Homer doing standup in front of an audience of prisoners. Oh wait, that's been done already.

- In "Homer Simpson in Kidney Trouble" Grampa Simpson has a birthday.
- In "Days of wine and D'oh'ses" Barney has a birthday.
4. Apu children were born in "Eight Misbehavin' " , but in last night's episode, they were walking better than Maggie (who falls a lot) and saying their first words while Maggie is still in the same develop mental stage.

Maggie wakes up and it's 1990 and we realize that she's been dreaming the entire series from that point.
The "wake up from a dream" thing has been done. I think the Simpsons will be original... or at least I hope they would...
actually, i had thought about this before ...
prior to 9-11, i thought it would be a climactic ending to have terrorists take over the power plant. the episode would be a spoof of all those cheesy action movies (you want results? you go to the schwartenaggers, the stallones, and to a lesser extent, the van dammes!). the plot is easy enough to imagine ... homer, because he's a slacker, is away from his station at the time of the takeover. he's ... i dunno ... in a closet. that part's not important. what's important is that he's the only one able to take back the plant. does someone die? who knows? it's the series finale, after all ...
post 9-11, i don't know if this could be done. what i DO think can be done is they can start showing the city of new york vs. homer simpsons again.

"Behind the Laughter" was a good episode, but I don't think it would make a good series finale. They shouldn't do something too different than a regular episode.
Maggie tells us what state Springfield is in.
Shock everyone by killing them all......it's been done before, so why not for the Simpsons.
