Review: "Treehouse Of Horror XIII" (DABF19) thread.

The day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived and now it's time to see if the Season 14 premiere lived up to the viewer's expectations. Here you can rate and review THOH XIII which will air tonight on FOX at 8PM/7C.

A Tv guide style review:

As it begins its 14th season, The Simpsons shows no signs of stopping. Unfortunately, it does seem to be slowing down. Tonight's show is the 13th annual "Treehouse of Horror" and it simply isn't as strong as the witty parodies of years past. It begins with "Send in the Clones," in which a magic hammock creates an army of Homers that he uses for manual labor. Now everyone knows that the original Homer can be a doofus, but his mute and mindless clones make him look like a rocket scientist by comparison. Although the segment ends abruptly, the point of the story is clear: A world full of Homers is a frightening thing.

So, it seems, is a town without guns. In the second vignette, "The Fright to Creep and Scare Harms," Lisa successfully campaigns for a gun-free Springfield, and is shocked when the town is invaded by armed zombies from the Old West. Like the first story, the ending of "Harms" is sudden and unsatisfying. It's as if the writers had painted themselves into a corner and said, "Oh, let's just do this and be done with it."

The trilogy's finale is also uneven. The people of Springfield usually shine when they're thrust into parodies of The Twilight Zone or classic horror films such as King Kong. But this spoof of The Island of Lost Souls, starring the ever jovial Dr. Hibbert, is positively uninspired. The segment is nothing more than an excuse to put the characters' heads on animal bodies. Yeccch. Despite these criticisms, I'd still rather watch a sub-par episode of The Simpsons than 90 percent of all other sitcoms.

Good review, agree with all of it. This episode just didn't make me laugh, but I guess since it's still a DABF episode, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the new production run starts airing.

Good review. Not the best treehouse of horror but i liked it alot more then some of the others.

I'm gonna sound like the biggest geek in the world, but did anyone notice the horrible grammatical error in part 3? The bumblebeeman said "Me gusto pollen!" Which means, "I please myself pollen." Anyone who has taken a few Spanish classes knows NEVER to say me gusto... it's me gusta, or whatever else is appropriate.

What happened to the funny-scary names in the credits? It's almost like they're saying they're not really trying anymore.
