One: Did anyone notice what the billboard with Chalmes said? I was having a go at my dinner when it came up, so I didn't catch it.

Second: Is it just me, or is this whole deal with Maggie & guns getting a bit out of hands? :P

Hmmm! She does seem to have a long history of violence.

She shot Mr. Burns (arguably an accident)
She hit Homer on the head with a hammer(?)
She used a nail gun on Homer
She shot several Mafiosi....although that was to protect her family

I seem to recall that when Homer mentioned that he had a gun-wielding saint, I thought he was reffering to Ned - though I can't remember if he ever was for or against guns.

Many saints are portrayed as sword wielding, although I'm sure many have updated to wielding guns. It would, after all, facilitate God's work.
