despite the fact that they are all yellow...have their been any simpsons episodes where they have jokes on or involve race (besides the carl-lenny thing)?...what i mean is has homer ever done something like tackle the KKK or Black Panthers in an episode?....if he hasn't i'm pretty sure that could certainly provide enough laughs for a good episode

I think that would be too risque (even for fox!) and thats why they would avoid it. Some people thought they crossed a line in episode 1F10 where Homer says, and I quote.. "it's funny! Their clothes are different from my clothes. [laughs] Look at what they're wearing! [laughs more]"
There was also Krusty at the Apollo with the acronym KKK for his show (can't remember the episode or what the acronym stood for)...
