The Simpsons 3rd Season DVD set (my thoughts so far)

Just wanted to say a few words about this set I just bought so far. I've only watched the first disc so ar, but from what I've seen, it's a nice improvement from the past two sets.

Included in the commentary tracks now include some of the VAs in some episodes such as Nancy Cartwright, Julie Kavner and Dan Castellaneta. Kinda like hearing about the problems they had when the animation came back from Korea on "When Flanders Failed" or the legal tango that occured during the involvment of Michael Jackson for "Stark Raving Dad", or the reasons why they decided to re-loop dialogue or scenes, or pull scenes from earlier episodes and stuck them in to make the episode before it aired (what always ticked me off somewhat).

There's lost more to explore, but I don't have time tonight. I'll leave the mike warm for the rest!

Haven't really checked if any other episodes have this extra.

I've really liked the set so far. I haven't found any of the Easter Eggs outside of the alternative commentary tracks, but they should be interesting knowing what they are.

Am I the only one having problems with the Scene Specific Sketches? I can get them to come up without problem. On some of the scenes with multiple sketches I can't switch between them. Most of the time I have no problem with it, but occasionally I can only access the first sketch. If anyone can help me, I'd gladly appreciate it.

You know, it must be my el-cheapo DVD player, but it shows the same menu couch gag each time -- the one where the eyeballs roll all over the place. But when I play them on my computer, I get a different one each time.

I enjoy the commentary, but I think a few of these episodes have TOO many people talking at the same time, and often the actors don't get a chance to say anything. All I've heard Julie Kavner say so far is, "I love that episode." and "That is so great.".

I have seen the Menu change of the eyeballs rolling all over the place and also a "Matrix"-style menu change

Surrpised how short their memories are. I probably know a great deal more than they do.

Oddly, does anyone noticed the odd lines that appear in the middle of a shot in "Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk", in case anyone needs to look for it, it's where Homer tries to trade his beat-up dollar bill with Smithers. Just never saw that there before.

Oh, and the Czech version of "Treehouse of Horror II" just sounds so different, but so is the Polish version that's pretty much some guy interperating what is being said originally. Comes off so cheap, yet they do this over in Eastern Europe apparently.
