FRIDAY, 12/10 - Treehouse of Horror XV (FABF23) Ned can see people dying...and sees Homer die when Ned shoots him; "Eliza Simpson, Consulting Detective" is on the trail of the Muttonchop Murderer; the Simpsons shrink and then enter Mr. Burns's body after he swallows a capsule that contains an accidentally shrunken Maggie

12/12 - Fat Man and Little Boy (FABF21) After Bart loses his last baby tooth, he turns to writing slogans on T-shirts as therapy for "losing his boyhood", but soon he's in the T-shirt business, much to the dismay of Homer, who thinks that the family doesn't need him any more

FRIDAY, 12/17 - The Way We Weren't (FABF13) Flashback to when Homer and Marge first kissed (although Homer didn't know it was Marge) when they were kids at summer camp - and then stood her up

12/19 - 'Tis the Fifteenth Season (FABF02) (as seen on DVD) When Homer is given a rookie Joe DiMaggio baseball card by Mr. Burns, he sells it and tells everybody to buy gifts for each other, but when Homer spends most of the money on a gift for himself, and then sees the error of his ways after watching a TV special, he becomes so good that he even out-Flanders Flanders

(On Friday 12/24, Fox is airing "The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle" (the live-action-except-for-Rocky-and-Bullwinkle movie, with Jason Alexander as Boris Badenov))

STUFF for "She Used to Be My Girl" (FABF22) ------------------------------------------- Written by Tim Long Directed by Matt Nastuk Blackboard: POKING A DEAD RACCOON IS NOT RESEARCH Couch: Everybody looks like Moe Special Guest Voice: Kim Cattrall Also Starring: Tress MacNeille, Karl Wiedergott Additional Vocals By: Michael Dees Overseas Animation: Toonzone Entertainment TV Rating: TV-PG-LV

REVIEW: C - it's official; the show has run out of ideas. This episode started out as a retelling of "The Way We Was", an ended up an out-and-out copy of "Days of Wine and D'oh'ses", complete with Lisa getting stuck in a fire and Barney saving the day in a helicopter.

REFERENCES Christian Scientists (they won't fix their flat, in much the same way as they refuse blood transfusions) O.J. Simpson ("The Juice Is On The Loose") Richard Nixon's "Checkers" speech (Mayor Quimby's puppy) "SpongeBob SquarePants" (Lisa asks for his help in the closing credits) 9F18 (reference to the Irish) 5F17 (Lisa disobeys Marge) BABF14 (Barney flies a helicopter; Lisa is saved from a natural disaster) DABF02 (Lisa the Buddhist)

DYNs
...the show has a new overseas animation studio (Toonzone
Entertainment, with overseas animation director Eom Hyoung Sik)?
...only the right side of the blackboard had writing on it?
...Lisa claims she has never disobeyed Marge before, but she has
(for example, when she took the bus in 5F17)?
...Marge's "murmur" sounded like Nelson's "Haa-haa"?
...in the high school story involving Moe, Marge was the photographer?
(Assuming Chloe did the writing, the answer to what would have
happened had Marge stayed in journalism is, "Not much")
...Marge's "Shiner-Be-Gone" is "Irish strength"?
...Jesus only has four fingers on each hand?
...there was no Viacom copyright for SpongeBob SquarePants's
appearance like there was for Ren & Stimpy's appearance in 9F12?
MAGGIE ALERT
Maggie falls: one, as she is carrying the dry cleaning

GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT Assuming Chloe left for journalism school right after high school, how did she know Marge was married? (She called her "Marge Simpson" when they met.)

Capitol City has always been spelled with an "O" in the past, but the sign spelled it "Capital City" with an "A".

Homer's ankle bracelet only beeps when he shows it - and why didn't it go off when he drove to Capitol City?

The lava rocks Marge walked on (a) should have been moving along with the lava, and (b) were there only when Marge walked on them.

The tree Chloe was on didn't burn until after Lisa was saved, and then it stopped burning just long enough for Chloe to be picked up by Barney.

Marge envisions herself reporting at the 1980 Winter Olympics, but in the "current history" of the show (assuming Marge and Bart never get older, their histories need to be pushed ahead year by year), she would have been a pre-teenager at the time.

It's hard to read, but I think the Capital City Convention Center also spelled it with an "a".

Well, not everybody. Most of the early reviews I have read place this one in the "good but not great" category.

Followed by: While not as good as the "Golden Years", it's still better than [insert near 100 percent figure] of the rest of what's on Television, currently. Meh.

While not aimed at your comments, Ben, there's too much "New Episode Affirmative Action" going around. It's like people have to be extra nice because the show's been on for 16 years, and giving a negative review to an episode is 'wrong.' Personally, I don't care if the series is a year old or has sixty years under its belt--if an episode sucks, it sucks. Using the show's longetivity isn't a defense against an unentertaing episode.

Toonzone and Eom Hyoung Sik's first credit was in The Fat and the Furriest. I'm surprised you forgot.

Considering he said it was a conversation starter, it could very well be a thing devised by him - which would explain the convenient beeping as well.
