I hope I can be forgiven this posting of more-or-less useless information, but the episode capsule at SNPP.com contains an amazingly large number of mistakes. Well, not so amazing, when one considers how many people in the world think they know what they are talking about but don't. Since, as far as I can tell, old capsules are unlikely to be updated any time during the current geological epoch, I thought I'd least place these corrections on the record.
Hebrew writing appears three times in the episode:
(1) The sign on the wall by Krusty's father's bed. Although we can't see the whole thing, it's obvious from the part we can see that it's just the Hebrew alphabet in order. At the bottom, it appears to say "Amen," but there aren't enough letters visible in the penultimate line to be able to tell what, if anything, it's supposed to say.
(2) The scroll that Rabbi Krustofsky is seen reading in his office contains random Hebrew characters.
(3) The menus at Izzy's say "Ha-miznon shel Izzy," which is Hebrew for "Izzy's buffet," although "Izzy" is actually spelled wrong: it should begin with the letter aleph, not ayin as shown.
Also, there are a couple of mistakes in the glossary, the most glaring of which is the statement that "mishegoyim" literally means "crazy non-Jews." "Mishegoyim" is the Yiddish word for "crazy people." The singular is "Meshugge" with the appropriate ending (e.g. "he's a meshuggener" or "er hot a meshuggener kop"). The word comes from the Hebrew "meshugah," which means crazy.
