Isn't it "Mr. Marbles"? Seriously, I'm just wondering, I don't know for sure. I think he's that doll, that puppet, and he does resemble that doll from "Child's Play," the movie (I haven't seen the movie, just the poster). Jerry's bookcase has a video copy of "Child's Play", by the way. Any connection?

A reference to a 1950s sitcom about a high school teacher, which starred Wally Cox as, of course, Mr. Peepers. It could be that Jerry might have vague recollections of the show from childhood (it went off about 1958, and I barely remember its original run---I'm one year older than Jerry). Or he could have seen it again in syndication or in reruns on channels like TVLand, if they have the rights to it and if any old films or kinescopes of it still exist.
