Jerry vs. Newman

Why does Jerry detest Newman? It's never been explained.

Everybody has to have an arch nemesis! Newman is pretty much out to get everyone, but he can never get Jerry. Over the years, after trying his best, he still can not "get" Jerry which makes him detest him even more. Jerry hates him because Newman is always there to spoil his fun or reveal some horrible secret about him.

How could you not hate Newman?

I think the real question is who would win if they were to have a fist fight. While I think Jerry has fitness on his side Newman is bound to fight dirty. It would be quite a match-up, especially if Kramer refereed.

Maybe you can pick me up some underwear.

A Fight between Jerry and Newman? Although this would never happen, I'd have to say Jerry would have the superior quickness and athletic ability to get past newman... who cares anyway! I dont even know why I replied to this message!

Why Jerry VS Newman...?

The bitter fued between Jerry and Newman has, as you said, been going on since the very first episodes... I think it's just something the writers came up with when they were writing the show, I reckon its great! Especially when they see each other for the first time each episode...
