Posters debate whether it's unethical to insure a broken stereo through the mail and file a false claim, with one person arguing it's acceptable because it's a write-off for the post office.

I'm thinking about sending my broken stereo through the mail with postal insurance. then, when it reaches its destination, i can make a claim and buy a new one!

i don't think it's cheating the post office because it's a write-off for them.....

I always wondered how the Seinfeld scripwriters ever could get away with the way they picture the USPS, crap service and the intimidating of both customers and employees. (Calm down, nobody is canceling any mail........) They even show their logo on TV. I'm surprised USPS hasn't sued anybody over this.
