Kramer's occupation

My wife and I were watching last night, and during the scene where they discussed not begin able to go left or right (depending on the character), Kramer replied he gets around this by using a Dentist chair (did I hear this right).

Anyway, it got me thinking, what does he do for a living - is he in fact a dentist?

I think the line about the dentist chair came after Jerry saying how George puts women on a pedestal and Kramer said he puts them on a dentist chair. If my lack-O-sleep brain remembers correctly. :^)
