The Finale, i belive, was meant to tie up everything that has happened in 9 years on one show...but i think most of those people who hated the show were people who haven't seen every episode like the hard core fans...it was definatally a show meant for the harder fans

I mean, come on... the second Babu (sp?) took the witness stand, who COULDN'T figure out that he was eventually going to say: "You veddy bad man!"? It was as predictable as a Saturday Night Live catchphrase.

Interesting theory but not true. I've watched it since the very beginning and have seen every episoode except 3 or 4 from this season. And i thought the finale was horrible. I think if you ask any' hardcore' fan, they'll tell you that the show has declined considerably this last season. I wanted the finale to leave me wanting more, but instead i glad that it was finally over, and the weekly disappointments could end.

I keep reading this" you have to really be a true fan to have gotten the finale" nonsense. I too consider myself a diehard Seinfeld fan. I have watched since the first year when most people were saying Sein who?
But to be a true fan you don't have to have liked every single episode they put out. Even diehard fans must admit some of the episodes (especially this season) have been clunkers.
Besides the "no hugging, no learning" rules of the show, the BIGGEST AND THE UNSPOKEN rule, I'm sure, was "make people laugh" and THAT is why this show was a disappointment. I barely chuckled. Seinfeld can be weird, it can be contrived, it can be quirky, it can be morally bankrupt I don't care, but it must be FUNNY!
WRONG. I never missed an original show and watch re-runs religiously. Out of 169 shows, there were only 7-8 bad ones including the finale which was awful. It didn't tie anything up-it was a highlight show which didn't take much effort to write.
The other great finales (M*A*S*H and Newhart) were wonderfully written "tie-ups" and there will never be a better surprise ending than Newhart's.
