Remeber when David Letterman, in a search for Paul, ran on to the Seinfeld set during one of his specials? George and Jerry were talking about a hot dog being considered a sandwich. I was really expecting the bit to be much more entertaining. With the talents of Letterman, Alexander and Seinfeld in the same room, I was hoping for at least a chuckle. Was anyone else kinda let down in that molment in time?

Welllllllll, I think that was the joke. The show is about nothing but it's still funny. The whole thing is so contrived, yet that's what makes it.
Letterman was showing how just anyone can't be "part of the clan" Still, don't want to get too deep, analytically speaking.
I thought that was hilarious because it's actually a parody of the sort of thing they talk about on the show. ("This is a great pen. It writes UPside-DOwn. The astronauts used this pen." "Who cares?" "It's a great pen." "It's just a pen.") It also shows how close the actual dialogue gets to self-parody sometimes, ("Look at this triangle! I just drew it free-hand, and it's PERFECT!") if people really didn't get the joke. Of course, if it wasn't meant to be a parody, then Seinfeld might want to actually stop it after the five years like he said he would. It's too late, but the sixth year doesn't start 'til May 31 so he can do it.
