I LIKED the finale

Am I the only one here who actually liked the final episode? It was great seeing all of those old characters again!

The ending did surprise me a little... I expected a guilty verdict, but when I saw Newman choking, I was sure one of them would go rushing over to save his lige, thus overturning the ruling.

But I guess having them spend a year in jail, having to be completely confined to no one but themselves, is a fitting ending as well. How many newcomers have come and gone, trying to fit into the clan (Jerry's girlfriends, Susan, etc.) but failed? They all deserved each other and that's what they ended up with.

And the finale could have been much worse too. When the plane was going down, I d an image of them all dying halfway through the episode, and the rest of it would take place in heaven/hell... or someone would wake up and the whole series would be a dream. So, even if you didn't like the finale, it could have been a lot worse.

I liked it and I thank Seinfeld and the gang for nine years of terrific entertainment.

That's exactly what I was expecting, a la Dallas.

I enjoyed it thoroughly... I think the reason so many people were disappointed was due to the buildup. Whenever something is built up (i.e. 3 more episodes till the last Seinfeld) then it is tough for it to please the casual viewer. I thought it was hilarious, and I'll probably enjoy it more the next time I watch it in syndication. I wish I watched it at a bar, so I could see the reaction to seeing Babu, and Soup Nazi again. That scene where Soup Nazi takes the soup away from Poppi was hilarious. As were the out-takes. I can imagine it was hard to keep a straight face during Kramer's scenes. The cereal scene, George's confession, Kramer's standing ovation in prison, Jackie & Ms. Spectacular, Susan's Dad buying the gun, Newman eating popcorn, Mr. Constanza yelling about Hideki Irabu, the comments about the carjacking on video, George's almost blowing the Seinfeld show meeting, and the last scene in jail = the first scene for the series were all classic moments compared to any other comedy on TV. As far as Seinfeld coming back, if I were him and everyone was butchering my last two years of creativity I'd say "good riddance, stop watching, and enjoy the other drivel on TV" and never come back. Out of all the series endings, this probably came in third behind Mash, and Cheers and people are acting like they just watched Homeboys in Outer Space. Third Place out of all-time was exceptional enough to give us all a nostalgic finale.

Am I the only one who thought that Elaine and Kramer had had sex at the beginning when she was getting out of the car all frazzled?

I liked it too...I thought it was pure Larry David and very very clever....I was amazed each time we turned a corner and there was another character from the past...wonderful ! I did NOT like the ending...the year in jail...but I picked up on Jerry saying, as they went to jail, "we'll be back in a year"...

soooooo..here's what I think, one year from now there will be a 'special' of the four of them getting out of jail, etc.

actually, I thought they would be 'saved' by the videotape in that the videotape could identify and catch the mugger ! therefore they DID help.

oh well ! I loved and hour and l3 minutes of the hour and l5 minutes :))
