I was just watching the Seinfeld Chronicles, and I'm not exactly sure, but i think i heard Jerry refer to Kramer as Cosmo. Its in the scene (at the beginning) where Kramer ruins what happened in the Mets game to Jerry. I know this can't be true, cause we don't learn his name until a couple seasons ago. Can someone who has the Chronicles on tape check this out for me, and tell me if i'm right or not. This would be an interesting discovery if i'm right.

Actually, he calls him Kessler I believe. Thankfully they changed it to Kramer, cuz to me, Kessler is easily forgettable. But that's just my opinion.

Actually, he calls him "Kessler." Apparantly, he was originally going t be called Kessler, but after the pilot, they decided to make it Kramer. This is alluded to in "The Betrayal" (aka "The Backwards Episode"). In the last (first?) scene where they show Jerry moving into his apartment, he meets Kramer and accidentally calls him Kessler before Kramer corrects him.

I've read that they hadn't gotten Kenny Kramer's OK to use his name in the pilot, but they had secured the rights a year later when the first "real" episode was shot.
