Newsweek reported as much. But the day of the finale, there were protests by Puerto Rican groups in front of NBC, and one of their demands was to keep "The Puerto Rican Day" out of syndication. (That would have to be done by Castle Rock anyway, not NBC.)
My advice--if you have it on tape, hold on to it, it may someday be a serious commodity for Seinfans.
That would really be not fair.I need that for my collection.I was unable to see it.I hope they replay it this summer on regular nbc.Maybe just edit out that part or somethin.I'm sure its possible. Although that would suck. It was an accident people are so lame to worry about such trivial bullshit.

I for one would be really surprised if NBC shelved that episode. The whole thing was blown totally out of proportion, and there were so many people jumping on it once the whole issue got started. It was complete nonsense that caused an uproar. Seinfeld has poked fun at so many things and has made off the cuff comments all along. I think with the hype of the whole finale, people got carried away and were looking to cash in on their own personal 15 minutes of fame with the whole thing. I'm sure if you sit down, you can find something offensive in just about everything you see on TV and someone will always be in an uproar for their own personal agenda.
The flag being set on fire was an accident, any one with an ounce of brains could see the humor in the situation. It was not a deliberate act of vandalism, but a wierd turn of events that started with Kramer getting into the feel of the parade by wearing the flag. At the moment he pulled the burning flag out of the car and attempted to stamp out the flames it was ironic that it took place in a Puerto Rican parade.
