Is Kramer on Drugs?

   This season, Kramer seems to have less and less connection to reality
than ever. I mean, Kramer was always a bit eccentric (that's his charm,
after all) but he was never out-and-out dumb--or insane-- or however you
want to describe how he acts now.
   To me, the defining episode of this transformation of Kramer's
character is "the Merv Griffin Show" I mean, who in their right mind
entertains company as if they were all on a talk show? FOr a ga maybe, but
Kramer takes it all completely seriously!
   A better question might be-- why the hell do the others play along? I
think the answer is obvious: Kramer has a very serious substance abuse
problem! His friends *know* he's high as a kite, so they just play along.
It is never expressly stated or hinted in the episodes because NBC would
never allow a drug-addicted character who was *enjoying* it.
   The guy drives around town with his blood bank donations, for goodness
sake! What about all the bizarre stuff he does in Jerry's apartment in
tonight's episode? Who else but someone completely high off his ass would
wipe up spilled orange juice with a throw pillow? Or pretend to be a
stand-up comic (going so far as to dress in a suit) to an empty room?
   The answer must be-- Kramer is on drugs!!!!

I think you're taking things way too seriously. This is a comedy!
