I consider myself an easy going guy, capable of walking down a street with a friend a talking about nothing and loving it. But I really don't have anyone to do this with. I seems that people are always so busy and stressed that they think wasting time talking about nothing is stupid. I feel it is quite enlightening. I get sick of people always talking about there job, what they have to do to pay the bills, all that crap about their normal life. I love to forget all the normal crap and just walk down a street and complain, analize, procrastinate, and wonder about all the little things in life. Why aren't there other people out there like me? Or are there, but I just haven't found them. Please leave comments-
Why aren't there people like Seinfeld in real life?
Actually, I know a few New Yorkers (now or originally from California) who are Kramer-style characters (in the slang use of the term).
Yo yo yo!

What you want to do is go to grad school. You can waste indefinite amounts of time in the manner you describe, and there will be plenty of others around who are only too willing to join you. Of course the downside is you live in poverty. I found grad school to be very enjoyable for this reason, until I was forced out by feelings of guilt and worthlessness.
Anyway, I don't know of a more Seinfeldish existence than grad school.

I couldn't agree more. You'd just have to spend an afternoon in our wing of the lab here. Hmmm, there may be a new series here. How about a show on graduate students who work on nothing all day for 5 years and then are forced out into the real world when their delayed adolescence is finally over. :)
Recent topics of intense debate: Can I post dilbert cartoons on my web page, and if not, how is that different from putting them on my door?
It is/isn't much shorter to take Alexander road to the shopping center than to cross over to Harrison (ok so that's more of local interest).
You can/can't find (fill in topic) on the Web.
California is/isn't the on-ramp to the Apocalypse.
And, after a long debate among history grad students about whether or not things get cold faster, or just colder, in the freezer:
Do physics students have parties where they just talk about what they don't know about history?
dH/dt = d^2H/dx^2 ie things get colder faster in the freezer The bigger the difference in temperature the faster the temperatures approach one another.
Occasionally, but we think we know what we're talking about :) And physics always sneaks in at some point

I was thinking the same thing. I haven't met a fellow grad student yet who didn't tape Seifeld during Thursday night class.
