In the episode where George's father begins cooking again at a Jewish social, there is a scene that I am sure is a parody of a movie but I cannot figure out what movie it is.
The scene where George's dad remembers how he was "young and brash" and over-seasoned some beef while in the Army -- there is some "unique" camera angles and a soundtrack that lokk and sound familiar. Does anyone know what movies it is from?
There are a lot of war movies that are similar, but I think they played Samuel Barbers "Adagio for Strings in G" or something similar, which I think was also used in Oliver Stone's "Platoon". As far as Stone's movies, the show has sent up 3 of them (I think): "Platoon", "JFK" and "Nixon".
The movie being parodied is "Platoon", the music is from the film as well. There may also be references to other war movies but I'm not sure which.
