Question about Scene from "The Doorman" Episode

I loved the recent episode where Jerry is set up by an antagonistic doorman to take blame for theft of a sofa from the lobby in Mr. Littman's building. In a subsequent scene, Jerry and Elaine are animately discussing how to escape culpability. Elaine assumes a dominant role in the discussion, and her mannerisms and lines strongly suggest the scene is taken from some other (presumably famous) movie scene, but which I cannot place. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Note that Jerry has done this kind of _film noire_ scene before with Newman, and with Kramer about Newman. I forge the episodes, but someone out there undoubtedly remembers..... Charlie Poling
