Worst Seinfeld EVER!

the worst Seinfeld had to be "The Boyfriend"...bad, bad loong episode. that, "The Contest", "The Secretary", "The Caddy" and "Male Unbonding".

Nah, I think the worst Seinfeld ever was the finale. It got such meida hype and was the biggest disappointment it could possibly be. I don't think I was ever disappointed that much in a TV episode. I have always been happy with Seinfeld episodes, but somehow, the finale struck me as....hmm...how can I say it?.....sucky.

"The Baby Shower" doesn't make it for me either (I like the part when G drives back from the airport with Jerry though.) and "Male Unbonding" is another one I usually skip when I go through my tapes. Unlike many people here I'm a huge fan of the last two seasons and some episodes I've watched over twenty times so when I go back to the very early stuff it's usually for historical reasons or to check on references I hadn't caught on earlier.

Ordinarily that type of humor doesn't age very well, but I rewatched this episode several weeks ago, and loved it. Something about the way Kramer trusts his caddy, not just on the course, but concerning every decision he makes. I'd never seen another show explore the caddy/golfer relationship in quite that way.

this is what is so amazing about Seinfeld, how you can see something from a different angle in a second or even third viewing. I've only seen the caddy once. I guess I took this trust your caddy thing as more generally about the way people do this with "experts" in general.

Were there other aspects of OJ satire in the story besides the bronco scene (which I loved)? Sometimes I miss these things because I don't know enough about the news.

BTW, in a distantly related vein, I wish Seinfeld were around to satirize the Clinton/Starr thing. One thing that has amazed/amused me recently are the number of "former federal prosecutors" running around giving expert opinions on legal matters. This caption is under most people who speak on CNN's Burden of Proof but I had not realized that these people also make the talk show circuits and are proliferating at an alarming rate. I was telling a friend the other day that's what I want to be next. A former federal prosecutor. :):) And I do mean FORMER. I mean look what they get to do. They act important and tell everyone what to think about the Starr/Clinton mess and people listen. I figured this was ready for satire especially when I heard these people are now some of them making this their new job, going around as TV experts. The Bronco scene was from "The Big Salad" when Kramer is being pursued by the police with baseball player Gennison(sp?). In "The Caddy " it is O.J's trial itself that is being satirized. Remember Cochrane telling the jury that"If it doesn't fit you must aquit" .In OJ's trial they refering to the bloody glove found at his home and in "the Caddy" Stan advises Kramer to have Sue Ellen try on the bra. The bra doesn't fit and Jackie Chiles (obviously inspired by Cochrane) yells at Kramer saying: ".....A bra as to fit right over a person's skin........LIKE A GLOVE.."

Re Mo's reminder of the Caddy plot, yes, I was confused. Of course, yes, I remember now all the OJ satire. The gloves, the trying on.

I don't care what anyone else thinks. I think that "The Finale" is the more stupid, unfunny, badly written episode ever. THIS is how they planned to end the series?! Meanwhile, "The Contest" is one of the best episodes of the entire series, while "The Caddy" is another of my favorites.

I loved "The Boyfriend." I chuckle every time I think of Jerry saying "I'm not takin' him to the airport!"

Hands down, "The Busboy". I couldn't find one single funny line in the whole show...

"The Busboy" wasn't great, but I like it. It goes along very well with the whole misanthropic and cynical aspect of the show. George tries to be a responsible person (trying to help a man whom he accidentally got fired) and inadvertantly screws up the guy's life even more. The harder he tries to do good, the worse it gets. Finally, the only good he does is by accident. It was a nice twisted take on the whole guilt and redemtion thing.

I loved "The Butler" where the uninsured motorist hit Jerry's car and the judge sentenced him to be Jerry's butler. Remember when Kramer tried to get Jerry's butler to clean his place?! That was funny...
