Fans question why George wears a Blackhawks jacket instead of a New York area team, with some noting people wear sports apparel from teams outside their region.
In the episode where George goes to the Holistic Healer, Tor Eckman.........and Jerry asks George if he can have his Blackhawks jacket if tthings don't work out.
Why does George have a Blackhawks jacket if he's from NYC? Wouldn't he have a Rangers or Islanders or Devils jacket instead?

That said, the Haks have probably one of the coolest looking logos/sweaters in the league, so, it would stand to reason they would have a cool jacket.

If Jerry calls it a jacket, it's more than likely a jacket like a varsity, leather lettermen type JACKET. I'm sure if it was a knitted sweater or any kind of SWEATER then Jerry would have called it a sweater. I have to agree with idea that the Black Hawks logo is very cool (Indian head profile) and knowing George, he got some kind of deal on it. Obviously the jacket made quite an impression on Jerry if he asks for it when George passes.

Oh sorry, I guess I was not clear. What people commonly call a 'hockey jersey' in the States, we here in Canada call a hockey sweater.
As far as it being a jacket, well yes of course. I am not quite as dim as that.

We're talking about New Yorkers here. You don't wear a Blackhawks jacket if you're a New York sports fan. Plus, he ended up working for the Yankees. I just thought it was odd.

Don't know how to explain this... I live in Chicago and they often report about how well Blackhawk paraphernalia sells countrywide. The Hawks suck and have so for years, but the gear has always sold great so it may not seem so implausible that a rabid sports fan would have a cool jacket even if it isn't New York-centric.
