episodes titles

Just a curiosity, When I was in New York I used to watch Seinfeld reruns on the WB11 channel, is there a reason why they NEVER aired the titles of the episodes,

As far as I know Seinfeld NEVER presented titles for episodes as part of the original broadcast. Even the sumeries in TV GUIDE did not call a particualr show by the name of the script when it was first broadcast on NBC. It seems to me that most tv shows I've watched through the years do not have titles on them for each show. There are exceptions of course.

The show is about nothing so nothing is the title.....hem, I think the titles is invented by the fans just to know what episode we are talking about. If all the shows was fronted whit a big fat title some of the point of nothing is gone, is it not?

Actually not displaying the title of the episode to the viewer goes back decades. I can think of several shows, but Green Acres and Gilligan's Island comes to mind from the 60's. The producers may have very well had the title of the episosde on film, but the public never saw it.

Collecting Seinfeld episodes and identifying them is quite a task, because there are at least 4 shows within one show. Perhaps that is why the series was so entertaining. I find it rather amusing that besides the pilot episode, every Seinfeld show starts with "the".
