Because Americans are hypocrits. In every tv-series or movie 100 people get shot, but things like nudity are forbidden. In the case of The Puertorican Day, the episode is banned because a Puertorican flag is burned at the end of the episode. It's ridiculous!

Easy for you to say when you live in a country with no minorities.... But you're right. Too many people here have to have their feelings protested all the time. It stiffles humor. Plus NBC and the producers of the show are wary of being sued. Money matters big time.

Once again, the episode wasn't "banned" by the government or any other organization. NBC responded to protests by promising not to air it again.
Wow...I didn't realize I would spark this much conversation! Anyway, the episode is available in case anyone wants it--that's all I was saying.:)

"Banned" is too strong a word. The correct term would be "yanked from syndication (for an indeterminate amount of time)."
The episode is pretty much mediocre, IMO. Not to say that it doesn't have a couple of great moments (as even the 'least-appreciated' Seinfeld episodes do)...the classic meeting of Vandelay, Varnsen and Pennypacker, though...funny as hell.

I totally agree....it had it moments, but overall it wasn't one of the greatest episodes. I have every episode on tape, and I have definitely seen a decline in the humor as the show got closer to ending. That is just my opinion--I don't want anyone writing me and yelling saying they thought the show ruled. There were episodes that were just not funny.

The only one I can think of is the one where Jerry gets illegal cable and he gets gunned down. Other than that I don't think there is any gunfire in Seinfeld.

This comment is kind of funny - just because it seems so pointlessly antagonistic. If the humour is intentional I apologise for not quite getting it, but otherwise its just silly. For one thing this hypocrisy is not at all uniquely American. The same thing is done in the UK and I have no doubt quite a number of places round the world. For another *you* might know what the word that's being obscured but any kids listening won't. And people tend not to like their children learning obscenities. I do find it annoying when its done after the watershed (9 pm), but when children are entitled to watch, I have no problem with it.

A beep draws actually more attention to the bad word than the word itself. And yes, I find Englishmen to be even more hypcratic and puritanic than Americans (I'm Norwegian).
Kids will learn obscenities either the parents want or not, they're part of the language.

Kids will encounter *drugs* whether their parents want them to or not. They also are part of the culture. But this does not mean that parents would happily allow public companies to deliver them to their home.
But look - this is way OT. The more general point is that its not really appropriate to come to a light-hearted Seinfeld NG and start passing judgement on people of different nationalities. I don't even strongly disagree with you on the issue of bleeping. What I mainly disagree with is your holier-than-thou shtick and my (almost) being labelled a hypocrite on what looks a fairly tenuous pretext. To make this slightly more on topic see if you can name the Seinfeld eps from which the following lines are taken: "You think you're better than me?" and "Where do you get the ego?" :)

It all depends on your definition of regular. If you don't think the Finale I and II were regular episodes, then the Puerto Rican Day is the last regular episode, if you count these as regular episode then the Finale was the last regular episode.
