Jerry's building- 129 or 757?

Okay, I'm officially confused. Does Jerry live at 129 West 81st Street, as he says he does in "The Alternate Side" when calling for an ambulance for Elaine's 66 year-old boyfriend, or does he live at 757, as the exterior shots of the building show?

There have been a few other references to 129- like when George gives the unemployment agency Jerry's address & phone number as Vandelay Industries. But then, in the episode where they go to the party at the Hamptons, and George is talking to one of his real estate co-workers, one of them says "Guess who just sold 129 West 81st?". But every time they show a shot of the outside of Jerry's building, it's 757.

I know this is an idiotic, trivial question from someone with too much time on their hands- but it's still been bugging me...

If i had the time I could name about ten more inconsistencies for you. The one that bugs me the most is Jerry's and Newman's apt. numbers. Jerry's apt. number has been both 5a and 3a. Newman's has been both 5e and 5f. Why?!!! I give up. Maybe someone on the set just likes to cause trouble.

ACTUALLY I THINK THAT 757 IS THE ADDRESS OF THE APARTMENT COMPLEX. 129 STREET IS A STREET WHICH CROSSES PERPINDICULAR TO THE FRONT OF THE COMPLEX 81ST STREET RUNS THROUGH THE BACK OF THE COMPLEX. I'M ALMOST POSITIVE

Do live anywhere near NYC...??

just curious..

if an address is XXX West XX street, it means that XXX is the builiding number and it is west of Center ( sometimes 5th avenue being center... ) on XX street --example--: 123 west 53rd Street 123 building number west..on the west side ( of the "dividing street" ) 53rd street.. the street that crosses it..

building complexes dont have numbers that are so out of synch as 757 for a address on 129..in fact I dont know of any building complexes that are in this category..but I have only lived in NYC all my life..and I may be wrong..

I have honestly never looked so close as to see the 757 but I am sure that that is just the building they use for the shot...( I don't think they use a NYC builing stock footage...) and has nothing to do with the address..thats not how its done - addresses that is..

different boros have different types of addresses... ( bronx and queens being the only two boros with dashes in the address..and for two different reasonsn ).

anyway,, since I have strayed so very much off the topic....I shall have my much denied caffeine and hope to make ammends!
