Does anyone know who the actress was that played Jerry's girlfriend inlast night's episode? I *know* I've seen her before, but I just can't place the face. Can anyone help?

You are correct. Teri Hatcher went to high school with my girlfriend, so we've sat through some pretty bad movies just to see her. In addition to the one's mentioned above, she was also in:

The Big Picture, with Kevin Bacon (actually, this was a pretty good movie) She played a bimbo actress

Soapdish, with Kevin Kline and Sally Field She played a bimbo actress playing a bimbo neurosurgeon (!)

Teri Hatcher. And she was also in Norman Lear's brief series on CBS last fall where her character married an older man, played by Robert Logia, and had to deal with his eccentric family. Can't remember the name of the series ("Sunday Dinner"?), but it was on Sunday evening for about 4 weeks.

I'd guess that you're not the only one, but I personally do not find Julia Louis-Dreyfus to be all that spectacular as a whole. Yes, she is most certainly attractive, she's just not 'knockout' material...

George is NOT Jewish in real life, I read an article on him last year in NY Newsday and they were commenting on the fact that he plays a Jewish guy so well and yet he is not Jewish.

That's news to me. I saw him on some morning tv show talking about how they celebrate Hanukkah in his family. Maybe I'm naive, but that sounds to me like he is Jewish. NTTIAWWT.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you want a perfect model-like contemporary look then Hatcher would be within your standards. Not attacking your point of view, I find that while one can fantasize about "beautiful" women using all kinds of models for a standard, when you meet real women who are strikingly attractive, they are so for much more than their matching of this standard. It may be the way they talk or walk or smile or react that makes them so attractive. And on the other hand, haven't you occasionally met a "beautiful" woman who is really a drag as far as personality goes and no matter how "pretty" she is, becomes tinged with "unattractiveness" because of how she deports herself. Elaine wears her hair in a style I would describe as from the 1920's. She has a jutting chin which she sticks out often. She is short and slightly stubby. Even though generally she could be seen on the cover of some glamour mag, it would be as a counterpoint to the perfect models found there.

BUT watch the twinkle in her eye when she is about to become mischevious, or the expressiveness when she becomes angry or the mildly innocent look when she is following some weird scene. Infinitely more attractive than a thousand bland, vacuous looks of a thousand perfect "beautiful" women. I would rather meet many Elaines than one Farrah Fawcett or Jaclyn Smith. Elaine embodies the perfect meld of good looks and bubbly personality.

Well, maybe if you're shallow. (insert annoying smiley here) Just on looks alone she may not be "knockout" material, but seeing the way her character acts on the show, that she's a really neat person, adds a whole hell of a lot. Attitude counts for at least 1/2 of "spectacular" for me. (Plus, remembering some of her stuff from that awful season of Saturday Night Live helps a lot. My favorite is the sketch of the two communist friends who always had to say a "Jinx! Buy me a coke!" poem whenever they said the same thing at the same time. I also remember her wearing a weird costume standing next to a weather map making a face and turning imaginary knobs on her head, but I can't remember what the joke is.)

Everybody else seems to like Kramer, but Elaine is my favorite character.
