Newman is becoming a tired a stupid character..............discuss!

Is it just me or is Newman becoming a real waste of screen, story and dialogue space.

Not really. That stupid "poet" episode with him was real dumb.

He's much funnier when he was in court trying to get out of that traffic ticket or when trying to snip a lock of Jerry's hair, or even when he was fishing through that old man's apartment for records. :)

It all depends on how they write him. Usually he's funnier as a side-point, not part of the main plot (as he has been this season) - another change with Larry David gone.

Well, it may be just you. I definitely feel that Newman is overused (he works much better as a supporting character who only shows up every few episodes..) but so far he still manages to be funny...

I've been thinking the same thing lately. I think it may be due to over-exposure. It seems he's all over the place lately...3rd Rock, commercials, etc. By the way, since when did Newman become a postal inspector??? I thought he was simply a mailman. I found this part of the plot to be totally unbelievable. Yes, I know it's only a made-up TV show and they can take certain liberties, but this part of last night's show had no credibility. Actually, although I've been a critic of the new season, last night's show seemed like it had the "feel" of an older episode...a good sign. Although, that whole Elaine paranoia over her medical chart got to be a bit tedious...just my opinion.

They're pushing it. Newman is great, but only in small doses. They need a few episodes without him for a while.
