puffy shirt

This is too good to resist. On entertainment Tonight they are saying that big puffy white shirts are the new fashionable clothing. They are atributing this The Three Muskuteers movie but surly it could be something with Sienfeld. Maybe Kramers girl friend had it right with her oh-so great pirate shirt design.

Less than a month after the Puffy Shirt aired, some friends and I went to dinner only to see a girl sitting in a booth wearing a Puffy Shirt very similar to Seinfeld's. We all are Seinfanatics and couldn't keep from laughing. This could be the Snapple/Pez syndrome again. For the sake of good fashion, let's hope not.

I've been to a few malls lately (trying to get a handle on my Christmas shopping) and I've noticed lots of puffy shirts on *sale*. I think that after the airing of that episode (and the rerun last week), these shirts don't have a snowball's chance in hell of selling!! Some of them were being offered *really, really* cheap!!

Better yet, check in Harper's Monthly; for the past umpteen months, they have had an ad for Buccaneer shirts -- ARRR!!!! Matey!

Hehe. Actually 18th century style couture has been making a revival in the last few seasons. Dolce and Gabanna for example have velvet suits with those puffy shirts that have been selling out - even at $1500 a suit and shirt at around $300.

Actually I believe the puffy shirt fashion preceded the puffy shirt show (the original airing). When I watched the episode the first time I thought to myself that I had begun to see that around a lot lately. Of course, I live in the city (not the big city, just the second city)
