Newman's promotion

Did Newman get a promotion? Last season he had a mail route in the Bronx that took him near Yankee stadium so he could get Calzones (and a twinkee) for George to give to Mr. Steinbrenner. This season he is a postal inspector grilling Jerry about mail fraud. Next he was competing for a prized route in Honolulu. Would a postal inspector want to go back to a mail route, even if you got to live in Honolulu? And Jerry, despite his claims that Newman is his sworn enemy, in his heart wants Newman to stay.
