question about George's father looking for his cousin

I got the impression at the end of the episode (where Mr. Costanza meets who he believes is his long lost cousin in Tuscany) they were spoofing a scene from a movie. If they weren't, then it wasn't funny - so I'm assuming it has to be some kind of parody. There was some sort of Godfather-like music playing during the scene. Anybody know for sure?
