Seinfeld pilot: bizarro

The pilot episode of Seinfeld was sort of bizarro. JERRY was naive and turning to savvy GEORGE for advice.

George was holding a steady job in real estate.

And Kessler/Kramer, who is normally an adventurous go-getter, in the pilot is a spacey dimwit who has never left the building in 12 years!

And that coffee shop was incredibly quiet; it was like a library! I guess starting in the later episodes, some background noises were dubbed into the coffee shop and restaurant scenes, but at this early stage, it hadn't occurred to anyone.

I liked the cutaways to Jerry's nightclub act, and I wish that was done more often in the series.

In addition to that, in tonight's episode, "The Stakeout," when Jerry's parents were apologetic about sleeping on his "bed," (which was his couch folded out) he said that it was ok and that he was going to stay at Kramer's. You see lists of recurring characters and their first appearance, well what about the first appearance of Monk's (not in #1 or 2), or now the first indication of the existance of a bedroom in Jerry's apt. ______________________________ DEATON ==================== ***************************************
