Nov. 7th episode just mediocre.

It's Thursday again and I must say that with every passing week I become less and less excited about the new Seinfeld episodes. Tonights episode was okay, but it wasn't laugh out lound funny at all. It felt like a regular sitcom. Nothing was really that funny. Kramer and the japanese tourist thing was kind of funny, but it never took off. Jerry's think with Bret was intertiwined pretty well, but it wasn't that funny. I felt tonights episode was just a bunch of recycled trash. Bringing back the "Pilot" episode wasn' t that terrible of an idea, but the writers didn't do anything with it. Eliane had another bozo boyfriend that wasn't funny, and George was off doing nothing funny again. It also ended poorly. I did laugh some, but not that much. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this episode a: 6

Au contraire. I think this was the best episode of the season next to "Bizarro Jerry" The drawers with the Japanese guys were a riot, and so was George trying to get the cult to induct him and attempting to hit on ANOTHER studio exec. As for the bozo boyfriend, I thought the conversation he had with Jerry in the beginning was excellent. His condescending, officious attitude actually made me despise him. All in all, a pretty good episode. My only complaints were the umbrellas and I feel that they should have done more with the great Mr. Farbman.

I also believe Justin is tucked on this one.

There were a lot of great moments in this one. It was like the old days. The timing was awesone.

The whole "Hare Krishna" Carpet Cleaners thing had me ROTFL, especially when George's boss shows up to clean Jerry's coffee spill.

I agree that this was a very funny show. What I really enjoy is how Jerry, in one of the biggest cities in the world, meets an umbrella salesman, of all things, who works with a guy Jerry worked with over 15 years ago. Talk about Six Degrees of Separation!

The drawers were great, and Brett thinking Jerry was broke reminded me of the episode where people thought Kramer was retarded.

You know Seinfeld used to be just one of the great shows on Thursday night. Frazier used to follow Seinfeld, and Mad About You and Friends would preceed it. Well thaT's a pretty terrific lineup. Now only Seinfeld is worth watching on Thursdays, so if people are coming away with an empty feeling it may be because they were used to a marathon of great material on Thursdays as opposed to one really fabulous (though aging quickly) sitcom.

I liked the 11/7 show.   I thought the depiction of Elaine's boyfriend was
very biting and really very funny.   BTW, I thought it was bad luck to
stand under and twirl an umbrella in the house.  I hope not!  Andrea

I think the element that is getting tired is the lack of surprise. We're just so used to the zaniness that we have come to expect it. The show was good, but compared to some of the great shows, it's tough to compare. I hope this is the last season, I'd hate for them to go out with a whimper.

I completely agree about the bogosity of the 11/7 episode. (see my posting above). Anyone saying that it was a 9.5 is either kidding or kidding themself. It was okay but that's just not good enough for us Seinfeld fans -"the demanding ones" of the sitcom world.

This is my first time here!!! I never saw the Nov. 7th episode, but it's a major topic in soc.culture.asian.american because of the Japanese men. Many thought it was degrading and demeaning, some saw it as just plain funny!! If you have some time, take a look. If not, there was 61 postings on this episode as of today. I thought they might cross over to here and complain, but I haven't found one, yet.....
