George's job

How did George get the job working with the Yankees? I know this may be one of those annoying questions that gets asked a dozen times a week, but my husband and I were just watching the show and neither of us could remember. Bonus question: How does the jobless Kramer afford an apartment in downtown Manhattan?

Answer: It was during the opposite episode. George did everything exactly the opposite as his first instinct. I think the episode is better known as the Even Steven episode. Bonus: Kramer just happens into money once in a while, I guess. But it is not downtown, Jerry, Kramer and Newman live in the same apartment building on the Upper West Side. I believe West 83rd street?

aha! i know that one. he bought it, doesn't rent it. this was a long time ago he bought it.

George decided to do everything the opposite of what he normally does because nothing good happened to him the other way. When he did this, he got a date with a pretty girl and his job with the Yankees. The episode was called The Opposite and it was the season finale of the '93-'94 season.

How does that apartment thing work in New York anyway? Remember when Elaine was going to move upstairs in Jerry's building? Jerry was going to loan her $5000 or $10000 so she could get the apartment. Do you have to "buy" your lease in New York City just so you can pay rent? Does the lease go to the highest bidder?
