After Seinfeld....?

I know, God forbid the show will end. But it's going to happen someday. I was wondering what you think NBC should do to replace "Seinfeld"?

My choices: A. Move "Third Rock From The Sun" to Seinfeld's slot and try to make that into another winner. B. Move "ER"(If it's still on NBC) to the 8 O'Clock Hour sending "Veronica's Closet"(If that's still there) to another night. Put the reliable "Dateline" at 9. C.Try to build up a new project and hope it's near as good as "Seinfeld" D.Try to sucker a hit show from another network. E.Try "Frasier" as the Thursday at 8 show. F. Anyone else have any ideas?

I know the NBC execs are in an absolute panic.  Once Seinfeld
leaves, they drop to #3.  Maybe even #4.   There's gonna be
a lot of dark years for the peacock in the near future.

They will never ever give Newsradio the spot it deserves..instead they make it a show one has to search for..like Waldo... .and one that is hardly advertised. Sad indeed.

But Friends and Fraiser have found their niche.... Newsradio is never given the opportunity to find that niche....they move it around,,have re runs more often than other show, rarely advertise it, pre empt it at the drop of a "suddenly susan-BLECH"... oh,,dont get me started!

I like it better than Friends,,tho that doesnt say much.....as far as THAT show has fallen..

Dont be sorry...we all have our opinions..and in my opinion..Friends has gone down hill.... and I like Newsradio much better...

I do however agree about Union Square..it was even boring and unfunny in fast forward. Kinda makes me miss the Single Guy..which ,,,by the way, wasn't so bad....!

I've been w/ this show since day 1. I see its on before Seinfeld this thurday. Maybe it will bring in more viewers.

No, they shouldn't try to rehash the concept. They should try a
original premise.

yes NBC (nothing but crap network) decides to show MORK & MINDY reruns in Seinfeld's old thursday must see tv slot

i think seinfeld is way better than cheers. nothing came close to seinfeld, and nothing ever will.

NBC could replace the show with old Seinfeld episodes and probably still be in the top 10. Seriously though, I think the only recourse the station has is to put "Frazier" in the timeslot. NBC is rapidly changing from "Must see TV" to "Just flee from the TV".

I think he was the first REGULAR (as in not just recurring) gay character. Soap was hilarious......

SEINFELD is a classic and probably will be on TV for years to come much like I LOVE LUCY. I am sorry the show won't be continuing it had a remarkable run and kept up the quality 99% of the time....no small feat. However, if we look back on television history we can see that there usually is always another excellent show that one of the networks come up with. Just like when CHEERS and other favorites ended, shows like SEINFELD, FRASIER and a few others came on.

I'm wondering who all has picked up on this: NBC kept surrounding "Seinfeld" for years with weaker shows like "The Single Guy", "Suddenly Susan" and "Union Square". If they'd found a much better show to nurture in the "Seinfeld" zone, they wouldn't be in the mess of having to scramble for a suitable replacement...

8:00-Friends 8:30-Just Shoot Me 9:00-3rd Rock From The Sun 9:30-Newsradio 10:00-ER

Right there you got the best night of television in a long time (possibly of all time)!!! All these shows are critically acclaimed and will get a huge audience. But still, none of these shows are "Seinfeld" or "Cheers"

After seinfeld, life will go on, and eventually there will be more excellent shows of its caliber.

Probably not for a while, though...

Comedy Central seems to run "Soap" marathons quite often. Check the listings for that.

Its on Comedy Central ( Basic Cable ) In fact, sometimes they have soap a thons.....thats when I have to find some tapes of some good shows...or see whats on HBO.

Yes, it was offered on tape. It was offered on tape by Columbia Video and there are re-runs of the show on Comedy Central from time to time. Soap was one of my favorite shows-a sadly underrated sitcom.
