Who's the First Co-Star to Do a New Show?

Andone have any thoughts on who the First Seinfeld Co-Star will do a new show? My first choice would be a Michael Richards (doing Kramer) spin-off with Newman. I think they could pull it off. (Of course, it would depend on the writing. The first two years of Seinfeld sucked compared to the following seasons when they finally figured out the right formula.)

Jerry Stiller (Frank Costanza) is appearing in a new sitcom this week.
I think it's called "The King of Queens" or something similar.  I hope
he's not an 'Archie Bunker' ripoff.  Depends on the writing, I guess.

One of the most prominent of the secondary players, Jerry Stiller (aka Frank Costanza) already has a regular role on the new CBS Monday sitcom "King of Queens".

Now to the major core characters. Got no inside info...but it wouldn't totally surprise me if Jerry Seinfeld's the one to bounce back into regular TV first...not in a sitcom (he says he won't do another one and we can believe him on that) but as a talk/variety host. Letterman is seriously considering retirement in another year. By that time, Jerry will have finished retooling his standup act and done a lot of additional writing, and may be looking for a venue that lets him do live comedy regularly and keeps him close to his New York City home base. He's already shown in guest shots and in guest-hosting stints on shows like Saturday Night Live, that he can handle live TV comedy and improv like a master. If he were to succeed Letterman, he'd prove in short order that he's the real successor to Johnny Carson. And he and Letterman are close friends...if Dave does decide to go, he's made no secret of the fact that he'd like Jerry to replace him...maybe with the show still pro- duced by Worldwide Pants Co.

     There may eventually be new sitcoms that involve Julia Louis-Dreyfus,
Jason Alexander and/or Michael Richards, either singly or in some combination.
But none of them will be reviving their Seinfeld characters. First, none of
them except Richards has expressed any interest in doing a project like that,
or for that matter, in any sitcom project in the next year or two. Second,
Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David have ruled out licensing the characters they
created to any spinoff effort by another producer, and they plan none
themselves, at least in series form.
     They haven't ruled out an eventual one-shot reunion movie for either TV or
theatrical release, if they can develop the right script idea some time down
the line, but it's low on the priority list now.

Incidentally, you're least likely to see Newman. Wayne Knight has a regular weekly gig on 3d Rock from the Sun that keeps him even busier than Seinfeld did, since he's in virtually every episode of that series while he appeared in only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the Seinfeld episodes each year from the time his character was introduced.
