Posters identify a Midnight Cowboy parody in the episode's ending bus scene where Kramer and Jerry travel to catch Mom and Pop, with the sequence mirroring the film's iconic finale.

At the end of the Mom and Pop store episode, Kramer and Jerry are taking a bus to NJ to catch Mom and Pop. The sequence seems to be a parody of a movie, but I don't know what. Any ideas?

That parodies "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), with Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight. Jerry kind of does the Jon Voight role, Kramer does D. Hoffman's. Hoffman's character, "Ratso", is dying at the end of the movie while the two ride in the back of a bus. *Was the Mom and Pop store episode the same one where George buys John Voight's LeBaron?**** E.D.S.

That's kind of funny, because in the Seinfeld Chronicles Kramer's name was Hoffmann. Yes, I know I have too much time on my hands.

I don't think it is the same episode. In the LeBaron episode George was trying to id Jon's teeth marks in a pencil vrs the ones on Kramer's arm as bitten by Jon Voight himself. It was at a party at the dentist's apt. that Jerry was not invited to, which Jerry subsequently knocked an award - which Elaine had won for Mr. Pitt - out the window and onto a thanksgiving day float and blew it up. (Woody Woodpecker I think) Mom and pop are not in that one.
